Pokerstars is searching for it's new identity and Team Pokerstars continues to go through changes. Two great players have announced leaving the team to pursue other adventures. While Igor Kurganov will hopefully continue playing poker, Liv Boeree announced that she will take time off from the game.
Liv and I are splitting up…
It’s been some fun couple of years and I’m thankful for the experience, the great support to https://reg-charity.org/ and the people I've worked with.
Sorry, splitting up with Pokerstars, not Liv, but all the above is true for both!

Nine years ago, in 2010 Liv Boere joined team Pokerstars. In April of the same year, she won her biggest prize at the EPT San Remo for €1.25 million. During her career she won over $3.8 million in prize money and challenged some of the best players in the world.
Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree are both co-founders of charity Effective Giving. Raising for Effective Giving (REG) focuses in improving the way current charities work and is based on effective altruism. Effective altruism community rates how effective different charities are in their work and where a 1$ will do the most good. With this information, REG launches specific fundraising projects to help the chosen charities and also spread knowledge about effective giving.
In the beginning REG focused on working with the poker industry and had a lot of success. With this experience they are now ready to help the larger public make better decisions when it comes to charity.
Since 2018, Team Pokerstars member list has siin big changes. Pokerstars has said that they are in the process of re-structuring and change is normal in that process.
Looking back, the trend is clearly visible. Many considered Daniel Negreanu to be the face of pokerstars but he left the team in May of 2019.
With the changing multimedia landscape, Pokerstars is modernizing their advertising efforts. New players who join the team are expected to create content and bring more life to the brand.
It is nice to see that players who have left the company have said nothing bad about Pokerstars and there is still mutual respect and friendliness.
We hope to still see Liv and Igor playing poker and wish them all the best in their future adventures!
